JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Summary/Objective

Efficiently receive and store materials and supplies as well as participate in the overall logistics and inventory management process. Responsible for assisting and providing backup to the building maintenance technician.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Stores and maintains materials and supplies ensuring the smooth flow of operations and maintaining a safe work environment.
  2. Operates a forklift efficiently, responsibly, and safely to load, unload, and transport materials, products, and supplies around our facility; Ensures proper stacking, arrangement, and organization of items to prevent damage and accidents.
  3. Receives work orders, boxes, issues, and conveniently places material for construction and maintenance crews. Delivers materials to crews in the field as required.
  4. Receives materials and completes appropriate records; returns unused materials to stock; receives and inventories partial reels of wire returned by the line crew; handles the return of faulty and damaged transformers.
  5. Maintains warehouse in a neat, clean, and orderly manner; monitors scrap bins and notifies vendor of needed pickup; maintains laydown yard free of debris, cuts grass, etc.
  6. Contacts plumbing contractors and issues water heaters for H2O program—maintains appropriate records.
  7. Maintains records of materials issued and returned on work orders; Maintains records of transfers of materials between Co-op facilities.
  8. Assists with custodial maintenance duties of Aiken facilities to include but not limited to: dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and cleaning carpets, and cleaning restrooms.
  9. Assists with routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies, facilities, and grounds.
  10. Assists building maintenance technicians with tasks that require two or more personnel.
  11. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. This job occasionally operates in a clerical, office setting. This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands

The employee will be required to walk or stand occasionally, use hands, fingers to handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

 

Travel

Periodic travel to state and local destinations, as well as some interstate travel is required.

 

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Associate’s Degree or equivalent.
  2. Forklift certification and experience as a forklift operator.
  3. Three years’ experience working with warehousing and inventory control.

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Valid Driver’s License.
  2. Legally eligible to work in the United States.
