JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Provide assistance in the Fleet Maintenance Facility to include; cleaning of the fleet vehicles and cleaning of the facility.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Responsible for the cleaning of vehicles and equipment, operating a pressure washer and cleaning the interior of vehicles.

  2. Performs routine custodial maintenance to facilities, and grounds.

  3. Assists with other general co-op errands when requested.

  4. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; explosives. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Physical Demands

This employee is regularly required to walk or stand, and frequently required to use hands, fingers to handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must have the ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade, such as vacuums and other related equipment. Must be able to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies, as well as lift and manipulate heavy objects up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

Travel

Periodic travel to state and local destinations, as well as some interstate travel is required.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

  2. General knowledge and some experience washing vehicles.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Custodian or janitorial experience resulting in a working knowledge of the expectations and duties of such a position.

  2. General knowledge of cleaning, care and general upkeep of vehicles and facilities.

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Valid Driver’s License.

  2. Legally eligible to work in the United States.
