JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Primary contact for distributed generation inquiries. Primary contact for security lighting projects. Support the engineering and operations department’s needs for CAD designs and updates. Execute appropriate engineering projects as assigned. Perform all work according to safety rules, regulations, and codes.

Essential Functions

  1. Understands all rates offered and can thoroughly explain the pros and cons of each rate to Members based off the Members load profile.

  2. Maintains necessary files and records, prepares staking sheets, approves interconnection applications, monitors renewable saturation of circuits, and creates CAD drawings.

  3. Stays up to date with interconnection standards, can verify a one-line diagram follows interconnection policy, and can create one-line drawings in CAD.

  4. Coordinates with engineering for work plan jobs, on-site inspections, meter change out, Member extensions, CAD drawings, phase additions and conversion, new and expanded subdivisions, and all other major construction projects.

Work Environment

This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Works around trenchers, line trucks, live wires, oils spills and clean up, pole top rescue, etc.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel

Periodic travel to state and local destinations, as well as some interstate travel is required.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Two-Year Technical Degree.

  2. Basic knowledge of single and three phase power systems.

  3. Classwork / experience with CAD systems.

  4. Exceptional communication skills.

  5. Understand ANSI, UL, and associated codes relating to distributed generation.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Two-Year Electronic Engineering Degree.

  2. Knowledge / experience of GIS software.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Valid Driver’s License.

  2. Legally eligible to work in the United States.
